General Manager's Update
Hard to believe it's already March! We are looking forward to some sunny spring days and and gaining some much needed additional daylight this month! I am thrilled to report some good news this month... The irrigation replacement project that has been ongoing for 5+ months is just about wrapped up! Within the coming days, the crews from Heritage Links will be packing up and moving on out to their next job. As messy and disruptive as this project was through the winter months, we are thrilled that the golf course will be back in great condition come the summer when golf is more enjoyable. The conditions of the course should improve with the new system and we look forward to putting it to use! The driving range will remain closed temporarily as we work to repair / replace over 800 linear feet of stormwater drain pipe. We will update you as soon as we can once this project is completed.
The Portland Golf Show is THIS WEEKEND (March 1-3) at the Portland Expo Center. With the forecast looking rather grim, we hope to see you at the show! Stop by to check out new clubs, scoop up some deals, and to see what's what in golf for 2024.
In allignment with the Portland Golf Show, we will be running a prepaid round special ONLINE ONLY through our online store! The sale will only be open through Sunday Night and limited quantities are available.
The brief 3-day trial period we had of sunshine and 60-degrees last weekend was a sign that Spring is coming! We are so eager to see you all again and are really looking forward to a great summer of golf. We will begin hiring for some new seasonal help here soon, so if you or someone you know is looking for a job at the course please reach out to me directly. We will have positions open in our Golf Shop, Outside Service, Greens Maintentance, and Restaurant departments. Lastly, at some point in March I will be stepping away for a few days / weeks as my wife and I welcome our first child to the world! Baby girl is due March 29 and we could not be more excited to meet her!

Director of Player & Business Development Update
Posting season is finally here! One thing that I like to do before the season starts is to set goals for the upcoming season. Goals like number of rounds, Greens in Regulations, Fairways per round, putts per round, putts per hole, scoring average, or anything else you want to improve on. By doing this it can focus your practice to where you need to improve your game. I personally like to use the GHIN Handicap app and track my round, hole by hole with stats. After the round it gives you a great snapshot of what you did during the round. It is one of the many member benefits of having a GHIN number.

Shamrock Shamble Tournament - Register your team NOW!
PGA Junior League – PGA Junior League registrations Opened up on February 1st. There will be a few changes to the Junior League program this year. We will be offering a PGA Junior League U13 Peewee program for golfers 5-8. This program will be a 5-week program starting in June. We will continue to have our regular 10-week program for 9-13- and 14–17-year-old golfers starting at the end of May. This year there will be limited spots available! Please reach out to me for any questions or for any scholarships needed.
Lessons – Now is a great time to start that lesson series that you have always wanted to start! I am offering individual lessons, 3-lesson and 5-lesson packages. Book your lessons now!
Comprehensive Golf Training program - I have partnered with Burn Fitness, Neil Wilhelm TPI and myself to offer a comprehensive golf training program! This program is designed to train you to like the pros! This program will include a TPI Screening, Inbody scan, personal training and golf lessons! For more information, please contact me!
Tournaments - We are beginning to fill up our 2024 event calendar. Do you have a charity fundraising event? Want to host a company party? Do you have a traveling OGA Member Club that wants to come out and play? OGA is a great venue at an affordable price! We know planning an event can be difficult! We’re here to help make the process easy on you. From the moment you begin coordination of your golf outing until the final trophy is handed out and the last guest departs, our event staff is here to serve you. Golf Shop Manager's Update
Superintendent's Update
Spring is right around the corner and hopefully some drier weather. It has been one wet winter.
The new irrigation system is fully installed, minus a few odds and ends. Nothing to impact play. They still have a bunch of cleanup, repair to turf and cart paths, and troubleshooting to do, but they should be gone within the first few days of March.
We still plan on installing some drainage on #14 as soon as possible. Please be patient if we are working out there as we will be smack dab in the middle of the fairway.
Aerification will begin on the 24th with the greens. We have two aerifiers this year, so hopefully we can move a little faster. This will be followed by tees and possibly fairways. Fairways will depend on weather and course conditions.
We will mow the rough as soon as we are able to get around without getting stuck too often. The turf is beginning to wake up and mowing frequency will increase for all areas.

As we head in to spring we will be extending our hours when the weather gets nicer and the days get longer. Looking forward to having the patio open to enjoy meals and drinks outside overlooking the 18th green and practice area!
We have six beers on draft and we can make a variety of well-known cocktails at the bar. Here is our current seasonal cocktail menu and beer list:
