General Manager's Update
Hello OGA Golfers,
It's hard for me to believe that summer has already come and gone... It's been a very busy year for us so far and we thank you for all of your support the past few months. The golf course is still in excellent shape and we still have some memorable rounds to make while the sun is shining! Many of our seasonal team members have returned back to school or will be very soon. We had a great team this summer and I'm very proud of the guys and gals who worked hard, long days to serve our golfers all summer long.
September has arrived, and we’re excited to share everything happening at the course this month. From special events to perfect fall golf weather, now is the time to get out and enjoy Oregon’s Home of Amateur Golf!

Course Aeration Notice - Closed September 22nd – 24th
Our annual fall aeration is scheduled to keep the course in peak condition for the year ahead. The course will be closed September 22–24 and will reopen on September 25th. Thank you for your patience as we take this important step in course care.
Why do we aerate???
We know aeration can be a little inconvenient, but it’s one of the most important things we do to keep the course healthy and in top shape. Think of it as giving the turf a deep breath of fresh air!
- Relieves soil compaction from golfers, carts, and equipment
- Helps water and nutrients reach the roots where they’re needed most
- Strengthens the grass so it can handle summer heat, traffic, and winter weather
- Keeps the greens smooth and healthy for the long run
While the greens may feel bumpy for a short time, aeration ensures they’ll bounce back stronger, smoother, and better than ever. Thank you for your patience as we take care of the course you love to play—your rounds will be all the better for it!

Director of Player & Business Development Update
Junior Golf
PGA Jr. League has ended. We had 110 golfers aged 5-17 learning the rules, etiquette and swing fundamentals during our 10-week program. They all did amazing things, and we had an absolute blast this summer! There are a handful of golfers that are hungry for more! We are going to be starting up our Fall Jr League program on September 16th. This is for golfers ages 10-17 (must be able to play 6 to 9 holes from our #1 tee box) we will have practice/games nights from 4:15 – 6:15 PM for four weeks. The cost is $60. Lessons
The off season is near; club championship season is almost over. Now is the time to come in and make those swing changes while the weather is still decent. As our 2025 event calendar is starting to wind down. Now is the perfect time to start thinking about and planning your next charity fundraiser events and company outings. Planning an event can be difficult! We’re here to help make the process easy on you. From the moment you begin coordination of your golf outing until the final trophy is handed out and the last guest departs; our event staff is here to serve you. Pro Tip
One thing that I see daily out on the lesson tee is golfers not able to make a half and three-quarter swing. As well as hitting the ball swinging at half speed. This September, start practicing adding gears to your golf swing!

Superintendent's Update
Fall is right around the corner and cooler temps are near. This is one of the best times for us here on the course. The grass loves the cooler nights, and the seed is easier to germinate.
We will continue our routine maintenance for the course. Tournaments and big groups have slowed down, so we will be able to concentrate on other things. Only one big tournament the weekend before aerification. This is the OGA Net Championship.
Aerification will be the 22nd-24th. We hope to get greens and tees completely done these days. A big bonus would be to get a head start on fairways also. With limited resources, we will see how far we can get. Some of the rough will also have to be aerified, especially #15 and maybe #16. The cores from greens and tees will be used to add to some of the tees. We are going to try to expand some of the par three tees. The rest will be used to fill in some of the bare areas still on the course. We will also spread seed in many of the areas around the course.
The season is winding down and Fred and I will begin to plan some projects to do in the upcoming months. Let’s get through this month with great weather so the course can heal nicely. Get out and enjoy some golf in the weather that September has to offer.

Food & Beverage Manager's Update
Hello everyone,
The current grill hours are 11am – 7pm Sunday thru Wednesday and 11am-8pm Thursday thru Saturday. We will be offering happy hour through the rest of the summer from 3pm-5pm every Monday thru Friday. Stop on in for some sliders or wings and get a dollar of your draft beer or cocktail during happy hour!

College football season just kicked off and NFL season will be kicking off shortly! It is always golf season as well! Come on by and enjoy some food and drinks while watching the big sporting events that will be coming up. We have three televisions around the dining room for watching all the games.
Make sure to come out and enjoy the patio while the weather is still good through the rest of the summer and in to fall!
